The British Beard Club’s Summer Beardness Event
Capital Beards at The Prospect of Whitby; Built in 1520, this historic pub the Prospect of Whitby is the oldest riverside tavern in the country. Situated in Wapping, on the edge of the Thames and surrounded by dockland areas, it's the perfect place to rest, in a family-friendly atmosphere. Lunches and great ales abound.
Captain Mustache’s Beard And Mustache Competion 2026
Ahoy & Welcome to the great city of York!
We are proud to announce, in collaboration with Beard Mobb England to help make the event bigger and better, the 4th Captain Mustache Beard & Moustache Competition!!
Captain Mustache will have the privilege of assembling and exhibiting some of the best Beards & Moustaches, from around the UK and internationally.
Capital Beards Celebrate St. Wilgefortis Day
St Wilgefortis day is recognised by Capital Beards as a milestone in the year of the bearded and has been celebrated regularly by us for so many years now. We shall raise a glass to him / her on this day.
The British Beard And Moustache Championships 2026
We’re excited to welcome you all to BBMC26 at the Park Hotel Kilmarnock this August — it’s shaping up to be an incredible event!
The Straw Jack at Carshalton
Every year in September we meet in Carshalton village to help the Straw Jack on his journey from pub to pub and eventually onward to meet his destiny in the park. An ancient rite to celebrate the harvest since forever ago. Great fun, plenty of ale and a chance always to meet old friends.
Caen, France - 3rd International Normandy Beard & Moustache Championships
The French champs are organised by the Viking Normandie Barbe Moustache Club, established in 2017. They’re a friendly bunch, and very positive and enthusiastic about this whole world of facial hair community and competitions.

The news you’ve all been waiting for, the Liverbeards Boss Beard and Moustache Championships are coming back for 2026!
The Capital Beards Meet Together At The Magdala
May brings the gentlemen of Capital Beards to The Magdala Tavern. This excellent pub dates back to at least the 19th century, and was named after the British victory in the 1868 Battle of Magdala in Abyssinia. This pub is highly recommended by Mr. Del Legg, Organiser of Capital Beards.
Not The Beer And Beards Festival
Out of town, we’re meeting at The Three Horseshoes at St. Albans for a Capital Beards event in this large and cosy pub with a huge garden, great beer and an exciting menu. Plenty of parking if you’re coming by road. The original event planned for this day has been cancelled but the determined men of Capital Beards will still meet there regardless!
The Capital Beards Are To Meet Again At The Pembury Tavern!
One of our regular haunts, The Pembury Tavern is also one of our favourites. Located in the heart of Hackney, they stock several lines of fine ales, keg and cask and are noted for their generous pizzas.
